ISR supports quantitative social research by providing statistical consultation, teaching non-credit courses and operating a Statistics Canada Research Data Centre (RDC). Successor to the Methods and Analysis Section, the Statistical Consulting Service (SCS) provides individual consultation and short courses in data analysis and statistical computing, mainly to York faculty and graduate students. SCS members and ISR faculty and staff teach short courses on data analysis, statistical computing, surveys and qualitative research, and sponsor the Summer Program in Data Analysis (SPIDA).
